As a Trustee, you will play a key role in focusing our strategic direction and ensuring good governance. You will gain valuable leadership experience in a supportive environment with full training provided.

Commitment

Our Board meets early evening, monthly, either in person or online (excluding August and December). The time commitment including preparation for Board meetings is about 3 hours monthly. Every year we also have a half day session including service users and staff, to gather feedback about our work, review and shape our strategy and services development.

If you’re passionate about making a difference and supporting the recovery and wellbeing of people affected by a brain injury across Oxfordshire, we’d love to hear from you!

How to apply

To apply, please send a covering letter outlining your interest and relevant experience and a CV (no more than 2 pages) to Jane Balinski, Chair of Trustees to admin@oxfordheadinjuryservice.org.uk.

We are happy to arrange a short informal chat before applying if you have any questions. Please get in touch with us on the email address above.

Giving Back as a Trustee with Oxford Head Injury Services

I became a Trustee as it enables me to add value, make a difference and use my skills where they’re needed most. For me, it’s about enabling others to spend more time at what they’re good at, while I find ways to make processes faster and more efficient.

I think it’s really important that people enjoy their working life as it makes up about half of all our time awake, so I do what I can to support that. I have a personal connection, my Grandad lived with the effects of a stroke for over 2 years which gave me an appreciation of the challenges faced by people living with brain injury and their families.
