Our Specialist Therapies
Our team takes a collaborative, person-centred approach to ensure every step of recovery is guided by you, the support you want and that’s right for your situation.
Neurological Physiotherapy
Our physiotherapist helps people affected by acquired brain injury improve their mobility, strength, balance and coordination.
Using a range of exercises, they help those we support achieve their goals and avoid complications such as muscle atrophy and joint stiffness.
Neurological Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapist supports people with acquired brain injury to rebuild everyday skills, from cooking to mobility based on each person’s own goals. The focus is on restoring independence, confidence and the ability to adapt to physical and cognitive changes.
Speech and Language Therapy
Our speech and language therapist is here to help anyone whose speech has been affected by brain injury.
Aphasia is a common condition after stroke or head injury that affects a person’s ability to find words, form sentences, understand language, and express thoughts and feelings. Therapy can help improve communication and find new ways to express themselves.
Art and Music Therapy
Art and music therapy help develop and maintain fine motor skills, mobility and strength. They can also help with self expression and emotional wellbeing.
Counselling Support
We provide counselling support for people who have experienced brain injury, or their carers, who may be coming to terms with changes in relationships, employment and way of life.
Cognitive Rehabilitation
All our activities at our Activity & Rehabilitation Centre (ARC) are designed to help you build strategies for managing cognitive challenges such as memory, attention and problem-solving.
