Jane Balinski

Chair - Organisation, Development and People

Jane joined OHIS (formerly Headway Oxfordshire) as a Trustee in 2014. Since July 2023 she has been Chair of Trustees.

Jane had experience in a variety of commercial sectors working at Board level in HR, Marketing, Organisation Change and Leadership Development, before moving to the not for profit sector.

She transferred her skills to direct successful transformational programmes at Macmillan Cancer, Amnesty International, VSO and Voiceability. Previously, she was Executive Director for People and Corporate Affairs during structural changes and rebranding at WRVS.

Jane now works part time as a qualified psychotherapist, executive coach and mediator.

Jane joined OHIS soon after her husband completed several years’ rehabilitation at our centre. She has lived experience of the impact a head injury has on people’s lives, work and relationships. She is passionate about the need to tailor support and extend the range of services to meet the needs of individual, carers and families

Jane is a keen artist, painting in acrylic and watercolour. She travels widely with her family, exploring different wildlife, landscapes, culture and food, as well as visiting every city art gallery.

David Beresford-Green

Vice Chair - Finance

David is the Group Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) manager for an international group of audio engineering companies. He qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (through CIMA) in 2019 and has worked in various FP&A roles since 2015 with a specialism in implementing improvements to data management and management reporting/ analysis. David is also a qualified financial advisor (through LIBF).

David volunteers on four different boards advising on finance because it’s his way of giving back and helping others. David’s Grandfather, Chris, died in 2008 following a stroke 2 years earlier and so like many others, he has a personal connection to brain injuries.

David is also a keen motorcyclist and has done multiple European motorcycle adventures and he plays cricket as a tall fast bowler. He also loves music, mostly listening but he plays a little as well – any genre goes. David is married to a Texan and they enjoy spending time with the family over there and travelling around the US whilst there.

Koseen Ford

Trustee - Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist

Koseen brings extensive experience as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist in both the NHS and private sector. Her areas of practice involve assessing and providing treatment to patients with neuropsychological and psychological conditions. This primarily encompasses work within the fields of neurology, head injuries, spinal injuries, and trauma.

In addition to her clinical duties, Koseen has contributed her expertise to several charitable organisations. Her involvement includes working with the Children’s Head Injury Trust, the Spinal Injury Association, and Headway. In support of the Spinal Injury Association, Koseen undertook the challenge of climbing Mount Sinai. This initiative was aimed at raising crucial funds to assist individuals living with spinal injuries, reflecting her commitment to making a positive impact beyond her professional practice.

Outside of her professional commitments, Koseen has a keen interest in gardening and is an active member of the Chelsea Flower Show. She enjoys music and dance across all genres and regularly attend concerts. In addition, she is passionate about interior decorating and has dedicated time to create unique décor in her home. According to her family, her passion for interior decorating has resulted in some interesting décor choices at home, but they have with gentle diplomacy also suggested that her creative efforts have contributed to a more relaxed and calm atmosphere for her. 

Mark Thomas

Trustee - Fundraising

Mark Thomas is a trustee with over 25 years’ experience working in the charity sector across fundraising, governance, and organisational development.

Mark is currently Trust Fundraising Manager at the Royal British Legion, where he is responsible for securing income from major trusts and foundations and developing long-term funding relationships. Across his career, he has experience of leading fundraising teams and supporting organisational growth within nationally recognised charities, including the Royal Society, the Royal Institution and the Masonic Charitable Foundation.

Mark grew up in South East London and continues to live there with his family. As a trustee, Mark supports the organisation in shaping and delivering its fundraising objectives, bringing a practical, hands-on approach to building sustainable income.
