Connecting carers advice and cake afternoon goes down a treat!
Yesterday we held the first of our 2017 Connecting Carers Events at our Activity and Rehabilitation Centre in Kennington.
Ever since it’s founding nearly 30 years ago Oxford Head Injury Services has dedicated itself to supporting people affected by acquired brain injury across Oxfordshire.
Over that 30 years we know first hand that it’s not just the person who suffers the brain injury whose life is changed forever. Husband’s, wives, daughters, sons and friends and families lives are also affected fundamentally in an instance.
So respite for carers families and friends has always been at the centre of everything we do, and with that it in mind we have come up with a program of events for carers under the banner Oxford Head Injury Services Connecting Carers, a regular line-up of social, advice and educational events where you can meet fellow carers, swap experiences and advice, and learn more about your loved one’s condition in special sessions with our highly experienced community workers and personal assistants.
It’s also your opportunity to find how Oxford Head Injury Services can support you and the services we offer.
At yesterday’s event we welcomed a group of local carers to the centre to give them a chance to meet other carers, discuss and swap tips and get advice from our expert staff and of course eat some rather lovely cake!
If you are caring for someone with a brain injury and would like attend a future Connecting Carers event, here is what we have planned for 2017.
